ClipCraft · Reels Maker

Support & Help

Everything about using the app, in one page.

ClipCraft is a workshop for short-form video: a multi-track timeline editor, a library of craft lessons, and eighteen tools that help you write, shoot, sharpen and grow your reels. It edits and exports, but it does not post for you.

Getting started

First run

Set up takes about a minute

Accept the privacy policy, pick the niche closest to your content, choose the outcome you care about most, and set a posting rhythm. Everything after that is tuned to those four answers — the hooks you see first, the recipes suggested, the posting windows and the reminder schedule.

Daily loop

Open Today, do one thing

The Today tab gives you a hook of the day, three small missions and your streak. Finishing one mission keeps the streak alive. The point is not the streak; the point is that you touched your craft today.

The tools

ToolUse it when
Hook LabYou have an idea but no opening line.
Hook FormulasYou want to understand why an opening works, not just copy one.

Reel RecorderYou want framing guides and safe zones visible while you shoot.
Safe ZonesYou are unsure whether the platform UI will cover your text.
Cover ComposerYour grid looks messy and your covers do not match.
Caption & TagsYou are writing the caption and picking hashtags.
Calls to ActionYour reels end without an ask, or with three of them.
Retention AuditA reel is finished and you want a second opinion before posting.
Shot ListYou are filming more than one shot and want to stop improvising.
Beat PlannerYou are cutting to music and want your edits on the beat.
Timeline EditorYou are cutting the reel: clips, text, keyframes, transitions, colour, export.
Format RecipesYou have no idea what to make today.
Platform SpecsYou need the exact dimensions, limits or safe zones.
Trend RadarYou want to know which formats are rising or cooling.
Posting TimesYou are deciding when to publish.
Performance TrackerYou want to know what is actually working for you.
Post-mortemA reel flopped and you want to learn rather than sulk.

Common questions

Does ClipCraft edit my videos?

It edits. The Timeline Editor gives you four lanes — video, overlay, text and audio — with trimming, splitting, keyframed motion, colour grading, transitions, titles and export at 1080×1920 straight to your photo library. What it does not do is post for you; that still happens in the platform app.

Why does the app ask for camera and photo access?

The Reel Recorder needs the camera and microphone to show a live preview and record. Safe Zones and Cover Composer need the photo library to read the frame you pick and to save an export. Both are requested only when you open those tools, and you can decline and still use everything else.

Where is my data stored?

On your device. Scripts, ideas, shot lists, audits, hashtag sets and performance logs never leave it. There is no account, which also means there is no backup — deleting the app deletes the work. Copy anything important out first.

The app shows an offline screen. What now?

ClipCraft checks for a connection at launch so it can fetch the latest lesson and trend data. Reconnect to Wi-Fi or mobile data and tap Try again. Nothing you saved is affected.

Why does the first launch take longer?

The first time you open ClipCraft after accepting the policy it prepares the full content library. Later launches are quick. If a section is still loading you will see placeholder blocks rather than an empty screen, and it fills in as it arrives.

How do I turn reminders off?

You › Reminders, and switch them off. You can also change the hour they fire, or turn them off entirely in your device notification settings.

Can I delete everything?

Yes. You › Settings › Clear my data wipes all local storage, including your setup answers, progress and saved work. It cannot be undone.

Will ClipCraft make my reels go viral?

No, and any app that says otherwise is selling something. ClipCraft teaches the craft decisions that give a reel a better chance — the hook, the pacing, the payoff, the framing, the ask. Reach depends on your audience, your niche, timing and platform ranking systems that change constantly. We make no promise about views, followers or income. This is set out in section 9 of the privacy policy.

The safe-zone numbers do not match what I see.

Platform overlays shift with app updates, device size and whether a caption is long or short. Our figures are the current working values — roughly 250 px top, 480 px bottom and 90 px right on a 1080×1920 Reel. Treat them as a margin of safety rather than a pixel-exact map, and keep anything critical inside the centre box.

My audit score is low. Is my reel bad?

It means the reel has specific, fixable weaknesses — and the audit tells you which three to fix first. A low score on a finished reel is more useful than a high score on a vague one. Re-run it after the fixes.
